Oxycontin Blues
Synopsis:
Oxycontin Blues is a dark, unflinching
drama about celebrity and addiction. Academy Award Nominated Actor
Wyatt Fallon has a secret: he’s addicted to OxyContin. After walking
off the set of his latest movie, Wyatt catches a ride from Vancouver to
Seattle where he holes himself up in a ratty apartment. Within
twenty-four hours the paparazzi starts gathering on the street below.
Brandon
Varitek, Wyatt’s old friend, and producer of such movies as “Total
Meltdown” and “Sudden Impact,” is sick of seeing actors throwing their
lives away, and he decides to do something about it. When he finds out
where Wyatt is located, he leaves a meeting in his office in LA and
flies up to Seattle.
After Wyatt snorts an almost lethal dose of
Oxy, Brandon crawls through a back window into the apartment to
discover Wyatt passed-out in a sea of trash. Brandon ties Wyatt up,
carries him down the back stairs, and stuffs him into his car.
Brandon
drives through the night to a remote cabin on the Puget Sound. There,
he ties Wyatt down and forces him through a long and brutal detox.
Through
their dramatic and sometimes horrific struggles, Brandon and Wyatt
confront their demons, rededicate themselves to their families and
their work, and rediscover an old, deep, and enduring bond.
